Suki says....

As it's coming up to Bonfire night, Suki wants to share with you her top tips for keeping your feline friends happy during the fireworks celebrations...

- The most important one is to KEEP US INDOORS and CLOSE THE CAT FLAP! Otherwise we might go running off and get lost and/or injured during our frightened state.

- Make sure we have somewhere to hide that we can easily access, under or behind the sofa is usually a favourite!

- Close windows and curtains and have some background noise on to muffle out those sky rockets and fire crackers!

- If we do show signs of being worried or frightened (pacing, miaowing, hiding) please try to leave us alone and not interfer with us too much. Although coaxing us out with treats and toys might seem like the best thing to do, it might actually make us more stressed :(

- Try to remain calm and relaxed, this will prevent us stressing out so much. If we do start calming down and purring, praise our behaviour with a treat and some strokes.

- Finally, try and stay with us if you can. Going out and leaving us might cause us to get stroppy and do naughty, destructive things!

Happy Fireworks Night!
